Model 757 |
Description
The Model 757 is a high energy, low voltage, capacitor discharge type magnetizer capable of saturating Alnico, Ceramic, (Ferrite) and Rare Earth magnet materials. Available in five energy levels from 2,200 to 11,000 watt-seconds (Joules), the Model 757 is easily adapted to virtually any production or laboratory magnetizing requirement. A modern solid state electronic control circuit, coupled with a rugged, heavy duty SCR makes this magnetizer a highly reliable, low maintenance unit. The electronic voltage control circuit prevents discharging the Model 757 before the preset energy level has been reached, avoiding incomplete magnet saturation.
The basic unit is a Model 757-2, additional (2200 watt-seconds) capacitor banks can be added at any time. A table-top work area provides ease of operation with the appropriate fixture plugged into the console on the work surface. Integral electrical interlock and fail-safe circuitry provide a high degree of operator safety.
Modes of Operation: Three modes of operation are available (switch selectable)
Applications:
Large volume Alnico magnets and assemblies, requiring long high energy pulses for saturation, can be magnetized using the Model 757. Magnetizing fields in excess of 100,000 Oersteds for saturation of Rare Earth magnets are produced in specially designed fixtures.
Simplified fixture design and fabrication are made possible by the low operating voltage (425 volts maximum).

Typical Peak Magnetizing Forces:
Peak H will depend upon the impedance of the charging fixture. Magnetizing forces as high as 100,000 Oersteds can be achieved. A fixture with an ID of 1" and an axial length of 2" when used with a Model 757-4 will develop 60,000 Oersteds.* The cycle times listed here are capacitor recharge times to 425 VDC. Lower voltages will produce faster recharge times however, actual cycle times may vary depending on fixture cooling requirements.
Magnetizing Pulse Characteristics:
The rise time to the peak and overall pulse length will depend on the fixture impedance and the capacitance of the magnetizer.
